Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The main objective of this section is to provide answers to some of the most common questions that arise when it comes to buying or maintaining a Daikin air conditioner. It contains easily understandable answers and explanations, grouped into 5 main categories, which are related to health, environment, technology, costs, maintenance and installation. MMC and Daikin have one main goal: to provide you with all seasons comfort!
Commitment to the Environment.
Environmental care is inherent in the overall activity of MMC and Daikin, from the design and manufacture, to the installation and operation of the systems. MMC is a certified ISO Environmental protection company. All waste from the company’s activities is collected separately and is transfered for processing by certified recycling companies.
Heat pump efficiency.
The heat pumps can extract the heat energy from the outside air even in the coldest winter days, thus providing efficient heating. MMC specialists are trained to adapt Daikin systems according to your conditions and requirements.
Waste reduction.
Daikin is the first European air conditioner manufacturer with a certificate ISO 14001 for environmental protection. All Daikin factories and affiliates are certified in the same way. The zero-waste company policy ensures that a large part of its products can be recycled, reused or utilized.
Recycling materials. The Daikin Corporation is engaged in heterogeneous activities, but in every aspect it strives to recycle the materials in a natural way. For example, the extracted sludge from the filtered wastewater is used in the cement manufacture.
No. You can only catch a cold from the virus that causes the cold. Keep in mind that the improper use or maintenance of the air conditioner may cause symptoms similar to those of a cold. Regular maintenance will ensure that the inside of the system will remain clean and will prevent the development of mold and bacteria. It is also advisable to avoid setting of the cooling temperature too low.
According to the German DIN standard, it is not advisable setting the cooling temperature below 25°C and having a difference between exterior and interior temperature bigger than 6°C. For example, if the outside temperature is 32°C, the room temperature should not exceed 26°C. Lower room temperature decreases interior humidity, thus drying nasal and throat membranes and leading to cold-like symptoms. Furthermore, frequent changes in ambient temperature can impact your well-being.
Regular air-conditioners, excluding Daikin's Ururu Sarara, only circulate internal air. Most models have filters that cleanse the passing air. If regularly maintained, the filters guarantee a cleaner than the exterior air.
Daikin Ururu Sarara is the only model channeling purified outside air into the room. It uses the Daikin Streamer technology for air filtration.
No, it cannot. An air conditioner that is used and maintained properly cannot cause an allergy or other disease. Proper maintenance and regular cleaning are needed. Some parts of the air conditioner are often damp and must be sanitized to prevent mold and bacteria from forming.
You can place the air conditioner in your home and control the air flow according to your desires. However, it would be good for a MMC specialist to inspect the site and give recommendations beforehand. Also, in the operating manual, you can get acquainted with different settings of the air conditioner to avoid creating unwanted currents.
According to the EU regulations, air conditioning containing refrigerant R22 are banned for sale in Europe. Only refrigerants R410 and R32 are permitted. Daikin's latest air conditioners use R32. The contents of this refrigerant are the least damaging to the ozone layer.
The noise of the air conditioner largely depends on its model. Daikin produces some of the quietest systems on the market. They work at 19 dB (A) (sound pressure level). This level of sound pressure can be attributed to a slight rustling of leaves or calm breathing.
The inverter compressor is used in contemporary air conditioners. It operates at different speeds and therefore adjusts its capacity freely. In comparison, older and less efficient systems using compressors that only turn on and turn off. An inverter compressor consumes between 30% and 50% less electricity.
Yes. This is achieved with a multi split outdoor unit. These units can power up to five indoor units.
If you are interested in such a system, it is advisable to consult with the MMC designers in advance. This will ensure the effective operation of the air conditioning system.
The latest DAIKIN air conditioners are very economical in their operation. The company continually works on improving their energy efficiency indicators. This is why some DAIKIN systems are now reaching Class A+++ of energy efficiency.
No, you don’t. Daikin's recommendations are to thoroughly clean the system once a year and the filters twice per month so that the air conditioner operates effectively.
If maintained properly and regularly, Daikin air conditioners are designed to operate for about 14 years. But nevertheless, many Daikin air conditioners can last for more than 20 years.
Yes, they can. Most residential air conditioners are light, so it is not a problem to install them anywhere. The only condition is having a good power supply.
If you are going to install a Daikin air conditioner and have further questions, please contact our specialists.
In order for the warranty of your air conditioner to be valid, it must be installed by company-authorized personnel.
The appropriate air conditioner should be chosen after a consultation with an MMC specialist. The power of a system you need depends on many factors, such as the size of the room, the isolation and its exposition, how many windows there are, etc.
Check if:
• There is a power outage.
• There is a switch that is off or a fuse is burnt
This happens when the smells of the room, the furniture or cigarette fumes are absorbed by the air conditioner and are afterwards released with the airflow.
А complete system maintenance is recommended. Please contact MMC specialists.
Please check that all indoor bodies are in the same operating mode.
Check if:
• There is a power outage.
• The air filters have been cleaned.
• There isn’t something to block the inlet and outlet openings to the indoor and outdoor units.
• Reboot the system by turning off the power supply for about 3 minutes.
If the indicator continues to blink, contact the MMC service.
The air conditioner starts by directly blowing warm air. This takes approximately 5 minutes. The system is designed to start work only after reaching a certain heat exchanger temperature.
Check if the ON/OFF TIMER and the WEEKLY TIMER are set at the same time. Change or deactivate the weekly timer settings.
Check if:
• the air filters are dirty.
• the air conditioner is in economy mode (ECONO).
• there is nothing to block the openings for the air flow of the indoor unit and the outdoor unit.
• there is an open window or door.
• the suction fan is rotating.
• the set temperature is suitable.
• the set airflow is suitable.
Check if the condensation system is not blocked.
